Inter-Harz operates in chemical distribution worldwide, always staying close to suppliers and customers. What began in 1993 with four employees has grown into an international distribution company with around 50 employees and three of its own office complexes.

Through four contract warehouses, Inter-Harz supplies customers worldwide with more than 2,000 raw materials. We trade in our own name and deliver exclusively original manufacturer qualities in original packaging.

Through direct communication, short decision-making paths, and close coordination with customers and partners, we respond flexibly to requirements along the supply chain. In-house logistics

Our own warehouse capacity at our logistics site in Neuss allows us to supply raw materials reliably and flexibly. Available stock enables short delivery times and a fast response to short-term needs. At the same time, we combine international sourcing with local availability and support our customers in making their production processes secure, efficient, and predictable. In this way, our warehousing and logistics solutions ensure a high level of security of supply along the entire supply chain.

Our Company History

1993

Founding of Inter-Harz GmbH

On 1 October 1993, Klaus H. Harz and Dieter Landsberger founded Inter-Harz GmbH. Initially, the focus was on the export and distribution of raw materials for the cosmetics, chemical, and animal feed industries.

1996

Felix Bommer becomes a partner

Felix Bommer joined the company as a further shareholder. He played a significant role in the development of Inter-Harz for many years.

1998

Expansion of the product portfolio

We expanded our business to include the import of chemicals and established a dedicated department for the cosmetics and cleaning products industry. As a result, our market presence in Germany and neighboring countries grew.

1999

First company-owned office building

By moving into our first company-owned office building in Klein Offenseth-Sparrieshoop, we created the basis for further growth.

2000

Launch of “Service for Industries”

With this new business area, we expanded our range of services to include the international supply of raw materials to industrial customers. At the same time, we developed into a service partner for leading companies in the cosmetics industry.

2001

Expansion of the Eastern European business

We strengthened our activities in Eastern Europe and expanded our international sourcing and sales structures.

2003

Storage in accordance with GMP+ certification

From then on, animal feed raw materials could also be stored in compliance with GMP+. As we expanded our activities in the animal feed segment, we extended our network with a new logistics partner in Hamburg.

2007

Further expansion of the warehouse network

By working with a further logistics partner in Leipzig, we improved supply to customers in Eastern Europe and shortened delivery times.

2008

Expansion in the DACH region

We intensified our activities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and further expanded our market position.

2011

Second office building

By moving into a second company-owned office building, we created additional capacity for further growth.

2011

Officially a training company

We committed to doing more to develop young talent and, as a recognized training company, began training our own apprentices.

2013

Introduction of new ERP software

By introducing a unified merchandise management system, we further improved our processes and advanced digitalization within the company.

2014

Farewell to Dieter Landsberger

After more than 20 years of company history, co-founder Dieter Landsberger retired.

2015

Expansion of the pharmaceuticals business area

We opened a new department for the distribution of pharmaceutical raw materials.

2016

New company building

By constructing a third company building, we doubled our office space and created room for future growth.

2017

Expansion of the business in emerging markets

We expanded our international activities and opened up additional growth markets worldwide.

2018

25 years of Inter-Harz

We celebrated our 25th anniversary and looked back on a successful development in the international raw materials distribution business.

2019

New organizational structure

To support further growth, we adjusted our organizational structure and expanded the team in a targeted way.

2020

Expansion of the management

We expanded the management. The strengthened leadership team set the course for the next phase of the company.

2020

Launch of the Nutraceuticals business area

Inter-Harz expanded its portfolio to include the Nutraceuticals segment, strengthening its activities in the market for food supplements.

2021

Acquisition of Nelo GmbH

With the acquisition of Nelo GmbH, we expanded our capabilities in warehouse and transport logistics and strengthened our own supply chain.

2022

Felix Bommer retires

After decades of work for Inter-Harz, shareholder Felix Bommer retired.

2024

Expansion of warehouse capacity in Neuss

Nelo GmbH expanded its warehouse capacity with a state-of-the-art hazardous materials warehouse directly at the Port of Neuss.

Bis 2030

On the way to carbon neutrality

Our goal is to operate in a carbon-neutral way by 2030. This includes, among other things, reducing our carbon footprint and expanding a sustainable vehicle fleet.
